Privacy Policy
What we collect through seal.mu, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Sports Equipment And Leisure Co Ltd, trading as SEAL Mauritius ("SEAL", "we", "us", "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through seal.mu, how we use it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2017 of Mauritius.
What we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us. This happens in two places on the site:
- The contact form (on our Contact page): your name, phone number, email address, the subject you select, and the message you write.
- The WhatsApp and phone links: if you click these, you leave seal.mu and start a conversation directly in WhatsApp or your phone's dialer. We only see what you send us there — we don't automatically collect anything from the click itself.
We do not currently sell products online, so we do not collect payment card details, billing addresses, or order history through the site.
If you click "Accept" on our cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics to collect usage statistics: the pages you view, your searches on the site, the device and browser you use, and whether you tap a WhatsApp, phone or email link. This is switched off until you accept and you can withdraw consent at any time through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. See the Cookie Policy for details. We do not use advertising tracking.
How we use it
We use the information you submit through the contact form only to:
- Reply to your enquiry;
- Help you with an order, product question, or store visit;
- Keep a record of business correspondence, where reasonable to do so.
We do not use your information for marketing emails or newsletters unless you separately ask us to contact you that way, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Who we share it with
Your contact form submission is delivered to us using FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a third-party email-forwarding service, which sends your message to our inbox at info@seal.mu. FormSubmit is a data processor acting on our instructions and does not use your information for its own purposes beyond delivering the message.
The Contact page also embeds Google Maps to show our store locations. When that map loads, Google may set its own cookies or collect technical information as described in Google's own privacy policy. We don't control this — see the Cookie Policy below.
If you accept analytics cookies, usage data is processed by Google (Google Analytics) as described above. We do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form enquiries for as long as reasonably needed to handle your request and for our business records, and delete or anonymise them when there's no longer a good reason to hold on to them.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act 2017, you can ask us to:
- Confirm what personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that's wrong or incomplete;
- Delete your information, where there's no legal reason for us to keep it;
- Tell you more about how we use your information.
To exercise any of these, email us at info@seal.mu. You can also lodge a complaint with the Mauritius Data Protection Office if you believe we've mishandled your information.
Children
seal.mu is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features (like online payments) that collect more information. The "Effective date" at the top will always reflect the latest version.
